The story
Tangalle sits an hour past the south coast's busier towns, and that distance is exactly its appeal. Long, near-empty beaches run for kilometres, broken only by fishing villages and the occasional boutique hideaway. At night, several nearby beaches host nesting sea turtles.
This isn't a party town, it's where people come to disappear for a few days. Days pass between hammocks, lagoon kayaking and slow lunches of grilled fish, with barely another traveller in sight.
