About The Pearl Edition
The Pearl Edition is an independent editorial guide to Sri Lanka: curated destinations, experiences, boutique stays and the stories that make the island worth crossing the world for. We're based between Colombo and the road that connects it to everywhere else.
We collect only what is needed to shape your trip, your name, contact details, and travel preferences when you reach out through Plan Your Trip, WhatsApp or our enquiry forms. We don't sell your data, and we only share it with our licensed travel partner in Sri Lanka, so they can quote and arrange your trip.
Cookies on this site are used for basic analytics and to remember your preferences, nothing beyond that. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful; it records visits in aggregate and we do not use it to identify individuals. You can request your data be removed at any time by contacting us directly.
The Pearl Edition is edited by Sithum Walter, a creative director with fifteen years of work across Asia-Pacific, based between Singapore and Colombo. He also runs sillyhumans, a creative studio in Singapore.
Every guide is researched against current sources and dated when it is updated. Every recommendation is the editors’ own.
Every place on The Pearl Edition is picked by us, never paid for. No hotel, restaurant or operator can buy a listing, a ranking or a good word.
Some links earn us a referral fee. That never decides what we recommend, and we say so wherever it applies.

Trips are quoted, sold and operated by our licensed travel partner in Sri Lanka, Traumland Tours. When a trip you enquired about through us goes ahead, they pay us a referral fee. It is part of their price, not an extra charge to you. How trips work.
