The experience
Colombo comes alive after dark around its street-food stalls, kottu roti chopped fast on hot griddles, isso wade fried by the roadside, hoppers cooked to order. This trail moves through several neighbourhoods with a local guide who knows which stalls have been doing it best for decades.
Stops thread through the old Pettah trading district and newer hawker strips, tasting six or seven dishes across the evening, with the guide translating menus and explaining what's actually in each dish.
